630GB of system data
My MacBook has 1TB of storage and over half of that is just system data??? It's the 2023 MacBook Pro M3 Max with MacOS Sonoma 14.1. My friend, who is still in school, has a school issued MacBook Air 2020, but I am not sure which chip it has. He is also running MacOS Sonoma 14.1 but his system data is only about 20GB. Does anybody have an idea what is causing this? My only guess is Parallels Desktop(a OS emulator), on which I have multiple games installed, but I feel like then it would go to applications, because PD is an app. (Edit 1)I did check for it in the apps and its only about 150MB. Are all the installed games on there going to system data?(Edit 2) After a bit of calculating it still is only 489GB, 243.5 of which are games. But that still wouldn't explain it as I did enable "Isolate Windows from Mac" which from my understanding would mean that none of the files actually end up on my computer.
