How to Clear "System Data" in your iPhone's Storage:

There are two options - Your Computer and iCloud. Your Computer (macOS X Device) may be best the way to go about creating the backup. This is because you may need to upgrade your iCloud Storage, in order to do this, which can be considerably pricey for a common one-time performance. So, use your computer, to save quite a bit.

I. First, View "System Data" in iPhone Storage:

  1. Tap: Settings
  2. Tap: General
  3. Tap: iPhone Storage
  4. View: "System Data" (Dark-Grey)

II. Next, rid of "System Data" through Backup:

About "System Data": "System Data" is all "junk" (as we'd commonly say) files (i.e. caches from installed apps). So, to fix this, first backup* your iPhone and then restore** your iPhone from the backup.
