How do I get past the iCloud activation process with the previous owners details and they can't help.

The iPad belongs to a family friend who is 78 years old and has forgotten all of their log in details and security question other than their email address which can't be accessed anymore. I have tried the security questions however when I put the correct detail in its stating that they are incorrect.

Help please!!
