I need to take my phone in for repair. Apple support says that I have to turn off "find my iphone" before bringing it in for repair. How do I do that if I can't see it and/or the pixels are so broken it doesn't respond correctly?

That’s a recommendation. In order to test the device it would need to be turned off. They could simply force a factory restore, which would wipe all data. They’ll always make the customer sign an electronic form acknowledging that the data could be deleted.

Do you have a backup or can you back it up to iTunes/iCloud? I was able to do that with an iOS device with a completely shattered screen, but it was because I’d done previous backups.
