What is this line in the timeline clips called?

What is this line called that connects a clip to the main timeline clip? And how do I move it to another point in the clip?

Thanks for any help.

(P.S. What is frustrating about this is that I've asked it before, but since I can't access my own posts on this forum, I have to ask it again.)

I don't know if it has a name other than "connection point". To change its location, usually to connect one clip to a different clip, all you have to do is hold down the Command and Option keys and click the cursor at the point on the connected clip you want the connection to be set.
