Safari on macbook air

Safari doesn't work anymore. I can open the app but it's frozen, when I try to close the app or point somewhere on the mirror I hear the typical sound of a fault.

I have already forced stopped Safari and I have already restarted my macbook but nothing helps.

Hi laylabernaerts,

Thank you for posting. I understand you're having an issue with Safari on your MacBook Air, and I'm glad to help out.

Which exact macOS version are you using under Apple menu () > About This Mac?

As a test, try force-quitting Safari, and then press and hold Shift on your keyboard while you re-open Safari; this will bypass the saved state the app was last in, and it may help to resolve the issue.

If that doesn't help, I recommend trying the suggested steps here next: If Safari is slow, stops responding, quits unexpectedly, or has other issues

I hope this helps get you started. Best wishes.
