imovie audio
When I connect to iMac via firewire/thunderbolt a DV camera Canon mv500i, I get video only, no audio, while using other softwares, I get both. Any suggestion?

Absence of sound has frequently been reported when trying to import from DV tape cameras.
Importing into QuickTimePlayer has worked for some.
Importing into an earlier version of iMovie, such as iMovie 9 or iMovie 6 has worked.
