Is it OK to change the Apple card number frequently, like using it as a virtual card?

Is it OK to change the Apple card number frequently, using it as a virtual card? I’ve been told by other bank credit cards it is good to use a virtual number when making online purchases, rather than the number in the card itself. But does Apple card already do this automatically?

There really isn't a problem with changing the card number often. Just know that if you use it for any automatic payments (like for your internet service, phone bill, utilities, etc.) then you would need to change all of those every time you change the card number. A lot of companies have done away with virtual card numbers as you are typically not responsible for any unauthorized charges.

Hi haroldw,

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. From my understanding, it sounds like you want to know if Apple Card has two numbers, one for virtual use, and one for physical use. I’d like to share some information with you.

Your card number is different than your Physical Card number, and this number is found in Wallet. Check out the section, “Pay with your card number in Wallet” here: How to use Apple Card

Kind regards.
