Can I transfer all files from external hard drive to icloud

I have an external hard drive that is full of a lot of my files and I have upgraded iCloud to 2tb storage space, which I would like to use to house my files from the external drive....

I have found numerous options to move photos between them but nothing about video files, and or other types of files, so I am here for advice. Can I transfer my entire external hard drive contents to iCloud, or is this not possible?? I do not want to have to deal with Apple so called 'Support' for this if possible.

Thanks in advance!!

iCloud isn't meant as a storage solution. It's a syncing service meant to keep certain file types up to date across all your devices. If you want a complete backup solution use Time Machine or a clone.

That said, you can generally just drag files from your external drive to iCloud.
