Cannot open books in Ibooks on ipad mini after latest software update

I cannot open books in Ibooks after I updated my ipad mini to the latest software. The books are listed but when I click on the cover nothing happens

Try turning off the iPad mini and turning it back on. iPad mini must have space in data storage to download books. If there no room after the latest update which needs room. Storage space
