how to delete multiple contacts at once?

I understand how to delete contacts one at a time. (Tedious.) I want to easily mark several (dozens) and then delete them all with one click.

Possible? (ought to be!)

Not on your device, log into whatever cloud or mail program you sync your contacts to on a web browser and mass delete that way.
