How do I select multiple photos in the photo album?

Thanks, that does not work. What happens when I press select and press on a photo it opens the photo and does not allow to select another. What I had to do is going to the photos instead of the albums and your suggestion works.
When you press the word "Select" it should turn into the word "Cancel". When that happens you can tap on several pictures and they will have a blue checkbox in the corner that signifies they are selected.
Does that not happen? Does the "Select" word not change?
You just need to quickly tap it once. No need to hold it or double tap or anything.
In the albums view, open an album and tap on the "Select" text at the top right corner. Then tap on each photo you want to select.
