Debit cards are not supported for verification. Apple TV+

I am trying to watch an Apple TV+ show on my desktop pc. It is forcing me to verify with my card before I can watch a show. I input my card and it gave me that error. Debit cards are not supported for verification. I have no other cards to add. I already subscribed to Apple TV+ with paypal. Added my card to iTunes in addition to my paypal account. Still not able to get past this verification screen. I tried this on both Chrome and Firefox with the same result.

On my apple products, I am not asked this and I am able to view the show. I don't get it.

I am watching on my PC because the screen is 32" which is obviously more preferred over a small ipad screen size.

i am trying to update my payment method when i switched to debit or credit card option after that my phone number showing that enter a valid phone number although i have registered my payment method with this same mobile number.

I had the same issue on a Windows 10 PC. TV+ working on every other device but when you try to stream content on Windows via browser you get asked for a card and debit cards are not permitted.

I went to the main appleid site and added my debit card there, then went back and tried to load content on the Windows 10 via browser - worked, was not prompted for verification.

This was after a lot of time wasted with Apple Support telling me it was an issue with my bank or my windows PC.

honestly, they are making it so hard for costumers.

Why use a credit card as validation method when we already have so many alternatives...

paypal/regular maestro cards etc give multiple options! Apple make it EASIER for the customer to use your services and they will come pouring in!

I'm having the same issue, and frustratingly I can't seem to change my payment details (https://appleid.apple.com/account/manage) from PayPal to Debit Card (which btw I don't want to do), because all of a sudden the form is saying my phone number is invalid - which was existing data on my payment details....... Why am I even bothering

This worked for me too. Thanks for confirming!

Solution: Go to https://appleid.apple.com and manually add your card info there.

I have this issue too. It works fine on my Apple TV, a Roku, and my phone. Was curouis about the PC experience.

I have a solution. After the message, I opened the Apple TV app from my iPhone. After that, it appears a option to have 12 months try for this service.

It s works for me.

Had a bit a look in dev tools on the web form. Seems to be an issue with validating details. May as well blame developers who programmed it.
