Search engine virus

I have completed the steps for the removal of the “search46107304-a.akamaihd.net” listed here on the Apple forum with no success at all.


Can anyone advise how to permanently get rid of this annoying virus???

Scan your Mac for Malware:

Use MalwareBytes for Mac --- This is software that searches for malware/adware. So, scan with it and then remove what is found. Once removed, uninstall MalwareBytes for Mac. Then restart the Mac.

Did MalwareBytes for Mac Find Anything? Whether "Yes" or "No"...


Looking up search46107304-a.akamaihd.net, I see that the issue is that the homepage is not changing. So, it seems this is bug in Safari. Here are two places you can go to find a fix:
