There are military draft notice spam messages flying around, there are sextortion messages, we-have-your-password messages, there are Apple ID scam messages such as this, you seem to have this believe that mail arriving from anybody—including mail messages apparently from your best friends, known associates, whoever—are actually legitimate. Mail is a hive of villainy and rife with fraud, scams, malware-infested attachments, cons, grifts, lies, cheats, propaganda, everything. Messages seemingly from your most trusted contacts can be trivially spoofed, too.
