I block callers…but their iMessages are still getting through along with new messages addressed O "Alex>"

If they are SMS messages (green bubble) forward them to 7726 (SPAM). Your carrier will block them. But here in the 3rd decade of the 3rd millennium spam of all kinds is just a fact of life. At last check 60% of all email is spam, and texts are catching up rapidly.
Check to make sure you’ve also blocked their Apple IDs/emails. iMessage works through Apple IDs, which aren’t necessarily dependent on a phone number. Another thing to try is to open the unwanted iMessage conversation, click the sender’s icon at the top of the screen, click the little “i” symbol under it, then click the arrow next to the contact, and finally, click “Block this Caller” at the bottom of the window.
Well, I had tried the second option "Another thing to try…" —but messages come through
from a variety of phone numbers. All have a link …to some commercial add.
I block them as suggested., but still they get through…and for some of the numbers
when I tried to Block…I saw that according to my iPhone they were already blocked?
I don't think the first option applies since I don't know these people and have no
way (I assume) of finding their Apple Id's
I was starting to think that these messages were unavoidable!, since there not SMS messages.
They are often addressed to someone named "Alex," but that's an obvious fiction. I now have
probably 30 or so numbers "blocked" to no avail. Oy…but thanks for your note.
