wake from sleep battery level false reading, shuts down

When I wake my MacBook Pro from sleep it starts up, I login then it goes dark. I tried pushing keys and the power on button to get it back on but i get the red no power icon with the red plug. I plug it in and press the power on button until it restarts. Power level is fine, 47% the last time this happened. Very annoying! Is this an indicator of problems. MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) I have a 1TB flash solid state HD.

Make an appointment at the Apple Genius Bar for service. If you need to find an Apple Store - Find a Store - Apple. Also, see How to find your nearest Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) or Distributor (AAD).

The battery is likely going south but there could be a motherboard issue.
