recover deleted text messages

Hello! I accidentally deleted messages from last year from a contact in my phone. They meant a lot to me. Is there a way to get them back?

If you were syncing Messages with iCloud, there isn't a way to recover the deleted messages. If you weren't syncing Messages with iCloud, restore from your backup. Restoring from a backup erases all data currently on your device. Any data newer than when the backup was made will be erased. A restore is an all or nothing restore. You can't access a backup and only restore certain files.
