If it is your personally owned computer, do not let them connect to it.

If it is a company owned computer, don't store any personal files on it.

If it is a company owned computer, the company owns ALL of the data on it. Nothing on it belongs to you.

The other responses do, accurately, state the official line. However, for the sake of reality:

Store your private files on an external drive and disconnect that whenever anyone other than yourself is accessing the system.

Note that, technically, and depending on configuration, admins in your company's support organization may have the ability to log into your machine at any time, whether or not you know it.

Also, for completeness, please tell you you are asking because your company's internal support is working on your system, and not because you received a phone call from "apple support", or "Microsoft support" saying that your machine is infected with a virus and that they need to clean it up.
