Why can’t I add more mailboxes on iPhone 6s?

What happens when you try? Is the mail account IMAP or POP? I'm guessing that you are really referring to folders, not mailboxes. If you are referring to additional email accounts, you should not experience a problem doing that either. However, if you cannot, you would need to explain.
Chris, thank you for your quick reply. I have no idea. Still learning after all these years. Checked several items in my settings, to no avail. Only thing I can say is my email is an iCloud email account. Hope this helps.
I don't use the iCloud mail on my devices, so I cannot be sure about doing it. However, if I open the mail app, you can tap on Edit in the upper right corner, and it should list Mailboxes, from there, you will see what Mailboxes are checked and those appear in Mail when you open it, then at the bottom-right, you can see New Mailbox. Tap on that to Create a new mailbox, and then it allows you to select the account location(Mailbox Location) under it.
That’s exactly what I do, but for some reason it comes on screen, Mailbox Cannot Be Added. OK. This is a first for me. Have retried several times, but it still comes up with that message. Wonder if there’s a limit to how many you can add? Thanks very much for your help so for.
