iMessages in the cloud

So I’m new to the use of Iphones. I’m also very confused about the iMessage being stored in cloud. IF I have messages synced and delete them from my phone they are gone from iCloud. But if they are not synced I can retrieve them? I thought I read some where that they could be deleted from iPhone for space. But now I’m very confused about not being able to retrieve them again from cloud if needed.

Deleting iMessages from iPhone but not iCloud I have several iMessage conversations that are taking up far too much storage on my device, however I don’t want to lose them. I know my iMessages are already stored in iCloud because I can see how much storage they take up, but will deleting these messages from my iPhone also delete them off of iCloud? Will I still be able to access them from my iPhone through iCloud after they are deleted from my phone storage? Really I want them to be stored similarly to my photos so they aren’t taking up storage on my device but are still accessible. Any tips?

How to prevent iCloud deleting my deleted iMessages? i have 2 iPhones, one where I deleted the conversation, and the other still has the conversation I want to keep because it didn’t connect to any internet source. I regretted this, and I am trying to bring them back from a older device. But When the WiFi is turned on they instantly vanish into thin air. My question straight is, how do I prevent this from happening & get them back on iCloud? i tried uploading it to iTunes from a pc, and it worked. Except iMessages weren’t uploading on there. can someone help me with any solution to get them back on the cloud?
