I have an hand me down Macbook Air 2015 and trying to do a factory reset. I hold down Command + R however instead of prompting OS X Utilities, it prompts The Recovery Assistant asking the old user's password. Can someone explain why this is happening and How can I properly reset?
The seller did not do what he was supposed to do, so his Apple ID is still tied to the machine. You will need to contact him or attempt to do the following yourself:
