Can't enter my password for Apple ID

When I try to sign in with my Apple ID my phone gives the error message "Verification Failed" with "The application you have selected does not exist." Whether I type in the correct or incorrect password. I know that I'm typing in the password correctly because I still have the option to reset my password and even the new one doesn't fix the issue.

Phone tries to login to someone else's Apple ID. No way to change login? Every time i need to update my apps it tries logging into someone else's ID. I have my password and I am logged into my profile but when it comes time for verification I am denied. Or if i try to move forward by pretending I don't have my password it tells me I have an unknown error that occurred. I tried going through the steps from another thread on here and that did nothing.

iOS 16 and Apple ID Verification Hello, I have updated my iPhone 12 to iOS 16 but every time I restart my phone it asks for my Apple ID Password. Following various searches on the web I have tried the suggestion of logging out of iCloud and then logging back in but I still have the problem. There is a red dot over the phone icon when I restart the phone which disappears after I have entered my password. Again some searching on the web suggested I deleted the history of Recents and Voicemail but it still appears after I restart the phone. Is this linked to the problem? Grateful for any help solving this problem.

There was a server problem that now appears to be fixed.
