MacBook Pro keeps asking to install update

I have received 4 update notifications in the last 24 hours and have gone through the installation process 4 times. It restarts and then I still see the red notification ball over my gear wheel icon. What is the problem?

Also... I got a "draft" in my Mail files that was not me or my partner who uses the same gmail account?

Two different issues or could they be related?

Thanks
