My early 2011 15" MacBook Pro won't complete the boot sequence (gets half way along the progress bar and then quits and starts over). How do I troubleshoot?

MacBook Pro 15" early 2011 boot loop issue -- is there a fix? My computer begins the boot process, displays the apple logo and progress bar, but then quits before completion and displays a white screen. Hi,

Try to boot in Safe mode if it is finished booting.
