Mac Mini (2014) Highest capacity SSD?

What is the HIGHEST possible option to upgrade a Mac Mini (2014) with an SSD drive? 1TB OR 2TB SSD? I’m not interested in a fusion drive, only SSD. Also, are there 2 slots or 1 slot to install the SSD? I really want to upgrade to 2TB SSD somehow. Thanks!

What does the 2014 Mac Mini have now?

(a 5400rpm HDD, a Fusion Drive or a PCIe Blade SSD)

The 2014 Mac Mini has two drive bays.

(one for a 2.5" SATA drive and one for a PCIe SSD)

1TB OR 2TB SSD?

The base and Fusion drive models can be upgraded using a 1, 2 or 4TB 2.5" SATA SSD.

The Fusion Drive and PCIe SSD models can be upgraded using a 1 or 2TB PCIe blade SSD.

Hi den.thed, I currently have the A1347 model and it has a 5400rpm 1TB HDD. I wanted to purchase a 2TB Sandisk internal SSD SATA III 2.5” for this Mac Mini. If the 2TB Sandisk drive is compatible with this Mac Mini, excellent. But if the most storage it can handle is 1TB for the SSD SLOT, I can possibly add another 1TB in the form of PCIe to the other slot. Let me know if that works. Thank you.

Yes you can use most any 1T, 2T or 4T 2.5" SATA SSD that you you like. (OWC, Crucial, PNY, WD, Sandisk, etc...)

You need to check and see if it has a PCIe slot and cable.

If not, you would also need to buy those in order to add a blade SSD.
