How to factory reset my ipod touch that has an old apple id and I don't have a password or itunes

I have an old apple ID on my ipod touch and dont know the password to factory reset it

iPod, iOS 9

Hello,

The iPod touch is locked with Activation Lock. There is no way around unlocking Activation Lock without inserting the device’s associated Apple ID. If this is not an option you will have to find the original receipt for the device that clearly shows the serial number. Once you have this document you will need to take the device and receipt to an Apple retail location.

My ipod touch was not used for a very long time. Meantime on my ipad I changed my apple id. I don't know how to change my apple id on this ipod to the correct one, it still shows my old outdated one, it won't let me change my apple ID. the one that is on there now is no longer valid.

I have changed my apple ID, the ipod touch has not been used for years. Doesnt matter if I have password or not the apple ID is no good. I have a new one on my ipad - I dont use an iphone. The bottom line is I need to change the apple ID on the ipod and it won't let me do that.

I have changed my user ID and that is an old user ID. I just want to change my user ID to my new one but my ipod touch won't let me do it. I will have to reach out to Apple, thank you.
