FWIW, if your iMac is running Catalina, you should be able to easily

sync/backup using the iMacs Finder and WiFi. For transferring files

via the Files app on the iPad Pro and for apps that support it,

Air Drop should work as well.

I don't believe Apple makes or sells the adapter but it would need a USB-C female and USB male connections as in the following (which I have not tried and cannot verify will work). See: https://www.amazon.com/nonda-Adapter-MacBook-Laptops-Chargers/dp/B0861Y5LF6

I will give this a try, too. Thanks very much.

Update: I am trying this now and it looks like it is working. I just had the idea that if I restored stuff from my iMac, it would include more apps, etc., since I don't keep too much info on my iPhone, but I can go to settings later and update,I think.

Thanks again.

I'm very, very close behind you. You don't seem to be doing too badly -- you found this forum, asked a question and provided enough detail for it to be understandable, and were able to reply. That puts you in a club than many who are less than half your age can only dream of joining.

Thank you. Yes, I am running Catalina and that was going to be my next task so you have saved me much time with your solution. Thanks again. BTW: . I like that everyone's answers are use basic computer " language" that I, as a senior, can easily understand. Much appreciated.
