Phone stopped displaying activity map

Using Apple Watch 3 and iPhone XR (both fully updated) I have been tracking walks/runs normally. Something has happened recently which means that when I look in the Health app on the phone, for the route I only see a green pin for where the route started but no further details of the route. The distance/time/steps etc are all accurately recorded, just not the route. As the start point is recorded then the location services are enabled (and this is confirmed by viewing settings). I’ve tried the options that I can find on here, like restarting devices, re-pairing but to no avail. Hopefully there’s an easy solution.
