Apple Watch skipping music

I want to use my Apple Watch to listen to music while running, without having to bring my phone.

I have an Apple Watch series 3 and RHA Trueconnect bluetooth earphones. I do not have an Apple music subscription.

After importing some mp3-files to the apple music app and adding them to my apple watch I tried listening.

Unfortunately, the watch does not play any music and keeps skipping through the songs.

I have no trouble listening to podcasts from my watch(+bluetooth headphones).

I can also use my apple watch music app to play music on my iphone.

Has anyone encountered the same issue?

Hello bob020 and welcome to Apple Support Communities. It appears you are having some difficulty playing music that's been added to your Apple Watch.

Add music to Apple Watch

As you've reported that other audio (all streamed) plays as expected, it would point to an issue with the files that were actually downloaded to the Apple Watch. As a first step, delete them and add just one back. If it plays as expected, add further content to the device.
