You can try and calibrate the colors of your display.
Open System Preferences ➔ Displays ➔ Color Tab ➔ Calibrate : This will open up the Display Calibrator Assistant and then you can adjust things from there.

when I apply a display profile (after naming it) the screen reverts back to the original colors...
