Big Sur "Other" space purge

Running an M1 Mac Mini 8/256 & the "Other" storage is now up to 141 GB & steadily increasing. Now 142+ GB.



I have followed the recommended steps in "Manage Storage" to no avail.


I have read multiple articles & conversations on this and my questions is:

"When will macOS Big Sur purge 'Other' to free up space?" and/or "What else can I do (apps, etc) to fix this?"

From what I have read at Micromat.com, to see techtoolpro snapshots, the App needs to installed. Now, I am guessing. If installed and can see the snapshots surly there is a way within the App to Remove their snapshots. Thus decreasing the Other Usage somewhat.

That's exactly what I needed to do. I searched Micromat's knowledge base & got 0 returns. After reading your response, I did a google search & found another section on Micromat's site that explained where to find the tool to remove snapshots. Did so & freed up over 100 GB - then deleted the app again.
