Does changing the same SIM card from one to the other also bring the over the data?

December 19, 2020

Is safe to take out a SIM card from an iPhone 7 and put it in a iPhone 7 Plus?

If so, is it worth the upgrade? Or, should I wait to upgrade to a newer iPhone so it will have more years of Apple support?

Also, which iPhone do you suggest for longer years of use?

Thank you.

No. The SIM card has nothing stored on it except your carrier's network information. This means that the only thing that moves with the SIM card is the cellular/mobile service.

Below is how you can transfer data and settings from an old iPhone to a new iPhone:

Do you have a backup created either on iCloud or on your computer?

  1. Yes it is safe to use the SIM card from an iPhone 7 in an iPhone 7 Plus.
  2. The one major difference between an iPhone 7 and an iPhone 7 Plus is obviously the screen size. If you like bigger screens than the iPhone 7 then you may choose to pick the iPhone 7 Plus over the iPhone 7.
  3. Should you wait to upgrade? This answer is entirely up to you and what you want to do. Buy what you think is right for you and stay within your budget.
  4. I am not going to suggest anything however will encourage you to do some Google research on various available iPhones and then make a decision of your own. You will be much satisfied with the purchase that way.
