Previews
I've got previews popping up every where and it seems to be stopping me from moving files and doing work. It's driving me crazy...and it seems to be growing and trying to take over my online work.

Do you mean in your web browser it is going to places you don't want or didn't intend?
If so, run EtreCheck and remove any Adware you installed.
If it is not that, please describe "previews popping up every where" in greater detail.
Previews of what?
Where are they popping up--what app?
I’m having trouble articulating this. Let me back up and try a different tack. On the desktop are some folders. If I click on one (any) folder or image file immediately the file is covered up by a I call it a preview that will not let me do anything. I’m stuck. I can reverse the process and the file is still there but I’m prevented from doing anything to it. I’m now getting similar things happening with my browser...I move the curser over a word for instance and it immediately shows an enlarged version of that word. It’s maddening. I hope this is clearer.
Example of problem...I have a folder on the desktop and a image file on the desktop. I want to move the image file into the folder. To move the image file I click on it and start to drag it to the folder but I am blocked by the appearance of a preview blocking the movement of the file. What can I do to prevent this?
I hope this makes sense! Thanks in advance for your help.
You are really a great help! I am curious about how these things got turned on... I didn’t turn them on. Maybe when I get more familiar with the computer I’ll come back to it. Right now I’m happy to be back in my old stodgy world. Thanks again!
With the information you have said, I can think only of hover text and that hover text is locked
open system preferences
then accessibility
then zoom
and uncheck the box for hover text
Thanks! You hit the nail on the head! I will be forever grateful...the problem was ruining my day, week, month! I don’t know how the switch got thrown. I’ll know what to do if it ever happens again.
I think you have force clicked on it if you have a force touch trackpad
just click or tap gently or disable force click in system preferences, trackpad, point and click
I am locked out of my MacBook Pro and have been all day. Msg says I am to wait before trying again but the time never passes so I’m stuck. Help!
