Will restoring my phone to a previous point in time bring back a deleted text thread. Example At 9am today a text thread was deleted. Will restoring my phone to yesterdays 8am backup, cause the thread to reappear?

go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud and check the switch position for Messages
If the switch is ON, then you cannot recover your deleted messages (no need to read any further)
If the switch is OFF, then yes, you should be able to recover your deleted message thread. (but you'll lose other messages that occurred over the last day)
