When you save a recent incoming call phone # to contacts, why doesn’t it save it to contacts? It gives you a choice to save to existing or new contact but doesn’t actually save it except in the recent calls list

It works for me; I tap the blue i in Recents, tap Create New Contact, enter or change the name if needed, tap Done at top right and I have a new contact in Contacts.
