Big Sur update on my MacBook Air

I want to do the Big Sur update on my MacBook Air, but it says I don't have enough disk space to do so. I have deleted lots of files but I still don't have space for it.

Depending on which OS you are currently running and the method you are using for the installer will determine how much free storage space you need for installing macOS Big Sur. You will need between 35GB and 45GB of free storage space.

Also make sure all your backups have completed transferring to your external drives because the APFS backup snapshots will retain your deleted data until the backups are complete.
