iPod 2nd generation
I reset my old iPod but was wanting to add a few apps for grandchildren like you tube. Is there a version that will run on this iPod?

No I don't think that there is one that can run on your iPod because the latest version of iOS that the iPod touch 2nd gen can run is iOS 4.2.1 and that version is over 10 years old the YouTube app requires iOS 11. But you still can use safari to view YouTube videos.
