com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error 49153

Hi, is there any news of a fix for the following error message

com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error 49153? I'd appreciate a speedy response from Apple with a fix.

I have stuff from 15 years ago backed up on writable CDs and DVDs . I now need to access this stuff urgently. I've found from previous threads that this error message is common. The CD-Rs and CD-RWs are not seen when I connect the external CD/DVD drive but can be seen in the Disk Utility. The drive itself cannot be mounted from Disk Utility although Disk Utility can display the contents. The drive is not reformattable. Only by clicking the contents does the 'mount' button go live. Unfortunately no mounting - just the error message.

Commercial DVDs work fine. I am running Catalina 10.15.5. Thanks for helping.

Hi Susannah,

We understand that you're experiencing a problem with the optical drive on your Mac, and we'd like to help. So we're on the same page, is this happening with an internal drive, or a USB Super Drive?

The section "Accepts discs but they don't mount or are automatically ejected" in the article below may help as well.
