Perhaps this is a Faulty Device?:
This may be a Faulty Device. You have a one-year, out-of-the-box limited warranty. So, if it has been less than one year since the purchase, then go through Apple, seeing if this can be replaced free of charge.
How it Send-in Service would work:

Include some notes on this, such as where thesis occurring, and how you came about it. Go here: Send-In Service - Include Handwritten Notes with the Packaging - User Tips
Unless you purchased Applecare plus protection plan, accidental damage such as a cracked screen is not covered in the regular warranty. But do go ahead and contact support to get a confirmation from Apple.
Contact Apple support. We are users like you and can not tell you whether it will be covered or not. There is a link to Get Support located at the top right of this page.
