Apple id

Trying to set up an existing Id on an iPhone 7 Plus but the phone is signed in under a random id that is not ours and we don’t know who’s it is. Is there a way around this?

Hello Craig-

You have run into an Activation Lock on the iPhone 7 Plus. That "Random" Apple ID is not random at all. It is the previous owner's Apple ID. You will need the password to that Apple ID or that iPhone will be useless to you. There is no way around that.
