IF iCloud for Messages is used and set to ON in Settings ➔ Apple ID ➔ iCloud, then all Messages are shown on your iPhone in the present and live state. When you delete a message on your iPhone then it is immediately deleted from iCloud as well with no other way to retrieve it.
