I solved my problem. The answer was in the link above "Mail server settings for iCloud email clients - Apple Support"

It gave me the correct incoming server instead of the one that was coming up on the android phone. Thank you FoxFirth for your help.

Note that you will need to turn on two-factor authentication for that Apple ID if it is not already on and that you will need to use an app-specific password in the Android email app rather than your usual Apple password. See:
