First, make sure iCloud Message is turned on on your MacBook.

On your Mac, open:

Messages -> Settings -> iMessage. Make sure iCloud Messages is turned ON.

At the same time, make sure you are logged in with your Apple ID in messages.

If it did not make a difference. On your iPhone, go to:

Settings -> Messaging -> SMS Forwarding. Make sure your MacBook is turned on.

Also, make sure that messaging in iCloud is enabled on your iPhone. Go to:

Settings -> Apple ID (Your Name) -> iCloud.

Make sure Messages is enabled.

If all settings are as they should be, try logging out of the Messages app on your MacBook, wait a few minutes and log in again.
