Having an AirPods Max nearby makes Magic Mouse connection choppy

When I have an AirPods Max nearby, even on its case, my Magic Mouse connection is very choppy, making it unusable on both my MacBook Pro 16" and MacBook Air M1.

If I move the AirPods Max farther, the mouse works perfectly fine.

Is this a known issue?

Rebooting the AirPods Max resolved this issue.

They both use Bluetooth so there could be interference. See if anything in this document helps:

The issue here is that the AirPods are in their case, which shouldn't cause any interference due to the low power state they assume.
