New Siri Remote Power Button Function

Can I make the New Siri Remote Power Button control only the TV and not turn off the Apple TV4K? The power button turns off the Apple TV which is my HomeKit hub. I believe the HomeKit hub must stay powered on and cannot use sleep mode.

Hello PlymouthMN1,

Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're wanting your new Siri Remote to only turn off your connected TV and not the Apple TV. As it turns out, it's OK for your home hub to enter sleep mode and allow all functions as the hub to continue to work. A bit more information can be found here: Set up your HomePod, HomePod mini, Apple TV, or iPad as a home hub

While you're able to set your Siri Remote to control your connected TV volume and power, you're not able to change the button to not put your Apple TV in sleep mode:

Control your TV and volume with the Siri Remote

Sleep or wake Apple TV

Thanks again, and take care.

Hi TammyW_03, and thank you for your answer. I had read the link you shared, but it was not clear to me what "must be powered on" meant. I incorrectly interpreted it to mean it could not be in sleep mode. Other sites which specialize in Homekit seemed to indicate that the ATV could not be in sleep mode (or remote access to Homekit would not work if it was in sleep mode) but I have validated that your answer is completely correct.

Thanks again, and take care also.
