Siri says “ you have to unlock your iPhone first “?

siri is turned on to reply or work for me when my iPhone is unlocked but why does this keep happening where she tells me “ you need to unlock your iPhone first? It’s happening more and more now. I update yesterday to the newest iOS release and I was really hoping they would fix this issue with Siri! Like I said Siri is turned on to work or respond but won’t when iphone is locked sometimes and sometimes the phone can be laying facedown on a table and face lock can’t see me and she will work! So ik Siri does work when the iPhone is locked even when it’s been in my pocket and other time is says that I need to unlock phone first ?? This is so weird why does this happen? Please fix this apple or whoever knows how to 🤦‍♀️ 🍏 I’d hate if there were an emergency and I was unable to unlock my iPhone or reach it coz I’m elderly and live alone and what if I could only speak and Siri would say you need to unlock your iPhone first !! before she’d call Emergency 🆘 and I couldn’t unlock it if I fell or something ! I need Siri to work for me when I need it and that’s important to me.
