AOL not working on iPhone mail

I have tried everything today - including spending an hour on the phone with Apple support.

I have always used AOL through my iPhone mail app. I did not change anything and the mail stopped loading yesterday - with a message saying the password is wrong. It's not.

However, I changed my password just in case. Deleted AOL from the phone app. Tried to add the account again - no go. Tried the special app password from AOL (several times) - no go.

searched and searched online for another solution - nothing.

Reset my passwords - no go.

I CAN access my AOL mail through aol directly. But I really want to be able to see it with my other mail accounts on my phone's mail app.

Can anyone help me?

Although the apple support person was incredibly patient, they could not help & could only recommend all the same steps I'd already taken.

Use a New App Password:

Do you use an App Password? If so, try a new App Password. Sometimes, changes (i.e. updates) are made to the Mac, and then mail server syncing becomes an issue (which is what a new App Password it intended for).
