Notice of phone being infected by virus - legitimate?

I received a notice ( while surfing the web on my I phone) which states it is from apple security. It states my phone has been damaged by thirteen viruses, is and is 62 percent corrupted. It directs me to go to the App Store and install the dark knight protector to remedy the situation. I am taking no action.

how can I confirm that this is a legitimate notification from

It is not legitimate.

It is not from Apple.

All such messages are scams from criminals. Do not interact with the message or the sender.

Close the offending page and avoid sites that are involved in such bogus advertising tactics.
