how can I delete multiple emails on my ipad

In the Mail sidebar, tap edit. Next, tap/select each email that you wish to delete - or just swipe down the left-side of the list to bulk-select multiple messages. With the messages selected, just tap the Bin/Trash button at the bottom of the sidebar.
